Personal injury can result from servicing the track roller frame without referring to the Disassembly and Assembly manual.Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual which contains the disassembly procedure that must be used to safely service the track roller frame.
Personal injury or death can result from lifting a heavy assembly.The heavy assembly can fall if using an incorrect hoist to lift the load.Be sure the hoist has the correct capacity to lift a heavy assembly. Approximate weight of the assembly is given below.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Lift blade (1) and install Tooling (A). Lower the blade onto Tooling (A).

Illustration 3 g01204848Note: Collect the fluid with a suitable container while you remove retainer (3). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - (Refills)" for quantity.
Remove bolts (2) and retainer (3) from each side of rear track roller frame (4).
Separate the track.

Attach a suitable lifting device to front track roller frame (5).Note: Do not remove front track roller frame (5) completely from rear track roller frame (4).
Illustration 5 g06095069Note: Collect the fluid with a suitable container while you remove front track roller frame (5). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities - (Refills)" for quantity.
Attach a suitable lifting device to support the rear of front track roller frame (5).Move front track roller frame (5) away from rear track roller frame (4). The weight of front track roller frame (5) is approximately 499 kg (1100 lb).

Remove seal (8), retaining ring (7), and bearing (6) from rear track roller frame (4).
