Removal Procedure
Park the machine on a hard, level surface. Lower the scraper bowl to the ground and engage the parking brake. Chock the wheels in order to prevent the machine from moving.
Pressurized air can cause personal injury. The air supply lines are pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi) .Purge the air from the system before performing any maintenance to the air system.
Purge the air from the air tanks.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Put identification marks on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses and tubes.

Remove six bolts (1) from bottom plate (2) . Use a suitable lifting device, and carefully remove bottom plate (2) from the frame. The weight of the bottom plate is 21 kg (46 lb) .

Loosen retaining nut (3) and disconnect hose (4) from adapter (5) . Loosen retaining nut (6) and disconnect hose (7) from adapter (5) .

Loosen retaining nut (8) and disconnect hose (9) from air/hydraulic brake cylinder (10) .

Loosen retaining nut (11) and disconnect tube (12) from air/hydraulic brake cylinder (10) .

Disconnect two electrical connections (13) from air/hydraulic brake cylinder (10) .

Remove three bolts (14) from air/hydraulic brake cylinder (10) . Remove the air/hydraulic brake cylinder from the machine.
