Remove the control shaft assembly (2) and the control linkage (3) from the control housing.

Remove the spool link (4) from the control spool.

Remove retaining ring (5) from the link assembly. The retaining ring must be removed in order to remove the control linkage from the control shaft assembly.

Discard the old shaft assembly (6) .

Install control linkage assembly (7) on the new control shaft assembly (8) .

Install the retaining ring (9) on the control linkage assembly.

Install the spool link (10) in the control spool (11) .

Coat the O-ring for the control shaft with hydraulic fluid.
Install the control shaft assembly in the control housing. If the control has a neutral start switch, make sure that the low point in the control shaft cam (12) is lined up with the plunger (13) for the neutral start switch.

When you move the control shaft assembly through the housing, make sure that the control linkage assembly (14) assembles with the spool link (15). The control linkage assembly (14) and the spool link (15 should form a L shape to allow proper movement of the control linkage.)

Use your hand to rotate the control linkage. When you rotate the linkage, you should make sure that control spool (16) will move.

Install the new retaining ring (17) on the control shaft. Make sure that the retaining ring is properly assembled. The retaining ring should be in the ring groove on the control shaft.

When the control is in the correct position, install the pin on the control linkage (18) in the corresponding hole in the feedback link that is attached to the swashplate (19) .
Assemble the control assembly in the correct position. Move the control assembly toward the left and toward the right. Check the engagement of the pin in the link. When you move the lever away from the center, resistance in the lever will indicate that you have proper engagement. If the linkage pin is not engaged, you will feel no resistance as the lever is moved. Repeat the process if the linkage pin is not engaged.
Align the control gasket. Install the screws. Torque the screws to 16 N m (12 lb ft).
If your control has a neutral start switch, verify that the switch is working properly.
