Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Attach a suitable lifting device, Tooling (A), and Tooling (B) to truck body (1) and position truck body (1). The weight of truck body (1) with the ejector assembly is approximately 6405 kg (14120 lb).

Connect hose assemblies (11) that are located above the rear axle.

Install pin assembly (10) and the shims. Install bolts (9). Repeat for the opposite side. Note: If it is necessary, install shims to the outside of the pivot lugs in order to achieve minimal clearance between the pivot lugs and the rear chassis.

Install lights (8).

Install bolt (5) to plate assembly (6). Tighten bolt (5) in order to remove any slack. Tighten bolt (5) for one additional turn in order to compress bumper (7). Note: If it is necessary, install shims to the truck body for even clearance between the truck body and the frame at four places. Bumper (7) must be under compression.Note: If it is necessary, install shims between the frame and plate assembly (6) in order to center the truck body on the frame. If it is necessary, use longer bolts in order to maintain a minimum of 16.0 mm (0.62 inch) thread engagement.

Connect tube assembly (2), harness assembly (3), and hose assembly (4).
