Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove cooling system pressure cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Do not attempt to tighten hose connections when the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing burns.Cooling System Coolant Additive contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

(1) Access door

(3) Coolant level sight gauge
Observe coolant level sight gauge (3) in order to maintain the coolant level within the view of the sight gauge.
If additional coolant is necessary, open access door (1) that is located between the engine air cleaners on the top of the engine compartment. Slowly remove cooling system pressure cap (2). Note: The pressure must be removed from the system before service can be performed. Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release".
Add the appropriate amount of Extended Life Coolant and install the cooling system pressure cap. Refer to the following topics:

Install the cooling system pressure cap. Close the access door to the cooling system pressure cap.
