Improvement to provide operator selectable shift aggressiveness modes. This feature is only available on machines that do not have orifice plates installed on the transmission valves. For machines without the orifice plate installed, one of two settings can be selected using the Messenger menu (Settings - Transmission - Soft Shift). The mode settings are, Disable (more aggressive shifts) or Enable (less aggressive shifts). The selected shift mode will affect the aggressiveness of up shifts from 5F to 6F and downshifts from 6F to 5F. The settings are not displayed on machines that do not have the orifice plates installed.Implement Software - All M Series Models
The Cat ET "Engineering Data" download report will now include steering event data files that will record steering system conditions when one of the following steering events is activated, E256 (Steering Output Detected in the Wrong Direction), E257 (Steering Output Detected With No Command Given), E258 (Steering Output Detected With Command Given), E192 (Steering System Malfunction), E263 (Low Main Pump Pressure), and E560 (Secondary Steering Pump Not Responding). Refer to Special Instruction, REHS7326, "Procedure for Cat ET Download of the Motor Grader Electronic Steering Event Data Files" for instructions on how to download the report.
Improvement to change the default blade lift command resolution from course to normal in order to provide greater control of the blade lift function.
Improvement to disable left and right joystick moldboard float mode during a cold oil warm-up with the engine running, no operator in the seat and a CID 168, FMI 04 (System Voltage, Low) is activated. When the diagnostic code is cleared, the ECM must detect an FNR neutral position before the blade left or the blade right float mode can be reactivated.
Improvement to the Dead Engine Steering Test that will prevent a "Test Successful" message from displaying when the secondary steering pump pressure requirement is not met.Messenger Software
140M - C7 and C9 Engines, and 160M - C9 Engine
Improvement to support the operator selectable shift aggressiveness modes. The selectable modes will only be displayed in the Messenger menus and in Cat ET configuration menus on machines that do not have orifice plates installed on the transmission valves. For machines without the orifice plate installed, one of two settings can be selected using the Messenger menu (Settings - Transmission - Soft Shift). The mode settings are, Disable (more aggressive shifts) or Enable (less aggressive shifts). All M Series Models
The 398-6937 Monitor Software Gp will no longer support the Portuguese language.Notes
(A) When updating software on the Motor Graders, the Implement ECM (implement and steering) and the Transmission/chassis ECM (power train) must be updated with the latest version of software at the same time. Use the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to verify that all machine control and engine control software is the latest available version. Refer to the Caterpillar Service Information System. (B) After flashing new software to an ECM or multiple ECMs, always reset the ECM by cycling the power
