Ether Starting Aid (If Equipped)
Replace Cylinder
1. The ether cylinder is mounted on the left side of the engine compartment.2. Loosen the cylinder retaining clamp, unscrew and remove the empty ether cylinder.3. Remove the used gasket. Install the new gasket provided with each new cylinder.4. Install the new cylinder. Tighten the cylinder hand tight. Tighten the cylinder clamp securely.Radiator
Clean or Replace Pressure Cap
The radiator cap is located on the top left front of the machine.1. Remove the radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure.2. Inspect the cap for damage, deposits or foreign material. Clean the cap with a clean cloth or replace the cap as necessary.3. Install the cap.Clean Outside of Radiator Core
Remove bolts and open the radiator guard on the front of the machine.Compressed air, high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a radiator. Clean as required by condition of radiator.The use of compressed air is preferred.Refer to Know Your Cooling System, Form SEBD0518, for the complete procedure and instructions.Transmission System
Clean Scavenge Line Screens
The power train screens must be removed and cleaned if the power train oil pump fails, or if the transmission or torque converter are dissembled for any reason.Do not crush domed screens.
The oil must be drained before cleaning the screens. 1. Remove drain plugs from the bevel gear case and torque divider housing. 2. Remove the torque converter scavenge line screen cover.3. Remove the screen. 4. Remove the power train oil pump cover.5. Remove the screen.6. Wash the screens in clean, nonflammable solvent.7. Install the two screens and covers.8. Install the floor plate. 9. Remove the transmission scavenge line screen cover.10. Remove the screen.11. Wash the screen in clean, nonflammable solvent.12. Install the screen and cover.Hook Load Line
Install Cable
Do not use a wire rope cable that is kinked, frayed or has worn spots.Wear gloves when handling the wire rope cable.
Use 6 x 25 filler wire, right regular lay, independent wire rope core, pre-formed, improved plow steel-type cables.
Unroll the wire rope cable from the spool, never lift it off in loops.Weld the wire rope cable ends to prevent fraying.Lower the boom to the ground and support the boom.1. Unwind the load wire rope cable.2. Disconnect the wire rope cable anchor from the load drum.3. Unroll the new wire rope cable from the spool. Never lift it off in loops. 4. Install the wire rope cable ferrule to the load drum.5. Wind half of the wire rope cable evenly across the load drum. 6. Reeve the wire rope cable from load line drum over upper sheave (1) (toward the front of the machine), under lower sheave (2), over upper sheave (3), under lower sheave (4), over upper sheave (5) and anchor cable with wedge and screw at (6) (toward the rear of the machine). Tighten set screw to 45 7 N m (33 5 lb ft) and pull the cable tight.Lubricate
Keep cable from becoming dry. Maintain a thin film of cable lubricant on cables.Fuses and Circuit Breakers
Replace
Replace Cylinder
