January 2004 REMAN CYLINDER HEAD GROUPS AND VALVE

All 3500 Series Announcement Caterpillar Remanufactured Products Group is pleased to announce the release of Reman and UTN cylinder head groups available for all 3500 and 3500B Engines. Consist The Reman and UTN head groups include a new exhaust valve with a larger stem diameter and an exhaust valve guide with a larger inside diameter. The larger stem diameter reduces stress in the valve stem during severe engine operation, thus improving engine reliability and performance. The Reman and UTN groups do not include a floating valve bridge, it must be ordered separately. Adaptability Use the Reman and UTN cylinder head groups for top end overhauls and major overhauls on all 3500 and 3500B engines. The former Reman and UTN head groups and the new equivalent head groups are listed below in Table 1. Core Acceptance All cylinder heads returned as cores must meet the core acceptance guidelines as identified in the ?Core Acceptance Criteria? SELD0018.
