Get on the machine only at locations that have steps (1) and/or handholds (2). Get off the machine only at locations that have steps (1) and/or handholds (2). Before you get on the machine, clean steps (1) and handholds (2). Inspect steps (1) and handholds (2). Make all necessary repairs. Face the machine and use both hands. Make sure that the steps are clear of debris before you dismount.
Inspect the engine compartment for debris. Clean out any debris and paper in order to avoid a fire.
Remove all flammable debris from the front bottom guard in order to reduce the fire hazard. Dispose of the debris properly.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the disconnect key, and secure the lock on the cover plate. This will help to prevent a battery short circuit. Removing the key will also help to protect the battery from vandalism and from any possible current draw by components over extended time periods.
Install all the covers and install all the vandalism protection locks.
