Information:
A. Drum Positioning
1. Position drum in yoke using a chisel pointed bar at the front of the drum.
When repositioning drum make certain wires or hoses are in no danger of being damaged by rolling drum.
B. Drum Mount Replacement
Shock mounts (10) should be replaced whenever they show signs of severe cracking, fatigue or breakage.1. Shock mount replacement (400A, 404B, 500A, 600A, 450A). (Fig. 1) a. Align shock mount block holes with mounting holes in yoke. Raise or lower jack as required and align bolt holes with long pointed punch.b. Bolt shock assembly to yoke using six bolts (10A).c. Remove block and jack from under yoke.d. Repeat steps a. thru c. for opposite side. 2. Shock mount replacement (300A, 303A and 304A) (Fig. 2) a. Align shock mount block holes with mounting holes in yoke.b. Place shim between yoke and mounting block.c. Bolt shock assembly to yoke.d. Remove blade and jack from under yoke.e. Repeat steps a. thru d. for opposite side. 3. Shock mount replacement (700A). (Fig. 3) a. 700A S/N 128 and up. (1) Align shock mount block holes with mounting holes in yoke.(2) Place shim block between mounting block and yoke.(3) Bolt shock assembly to yoke.(4) Remove block and jack from under yoke.(5) Repeat steps 1 thru 4 for opposite side.C. Vibratory Microswitch Replacement (303A & 304A)
1. Reconnect vibratory microswitch (6) to bracket.2. Attach wire to end cap (6A).D. Rotating Union Replacement (404B)
1. Rotating union replacement. a. Connect hydraulic hose to rotating union (8).b. Reconnect pulse pickup (8A).c. Check gap between pulse pickup and sprocket tooth. The gap should be .025".d. Open needle valve (8B) located under floor of console.e. Reconnect dirt shield (9).2. Bleeding of weight assembly. a. Remove set screw (13) from end of weight (left side of drum) and insert a hose into weight.b. Place a five gallon pail under hose and start the engine.c. Run the engine until 3 to 5 quarts of hydraulic fluid are in the pail or until fluid runs free of air bubbles.d. Repeat this procedure two or three times.e. Remove hose and replace set screw.f. Back set screw out two or three turns and then retighten.E. Vibratory Motor Replacement
1. Vibrator motor replacement (400A, 404A, 404B, 500A, 600A, and 450A) a. Align vibratory motor spline with coupling.b. Bolt motor to motor mounting plate (4).c. Retighten hose connection jam nuts (3).2. Vibratory motor replacement (300A, 303A, 304A, 700A). a. Vibratory motor replacement is the same as in item 1, steps a. thru c. of above except studs and stud nuts (4) are used to mount motor and only stud nuts need be replaced.b. Replace vibratory motor dirt shield (5).F. Drum Scraper Replacement
1. Position scraper assembly (2) between yoke arms with hoist.2. Bolt scraper assembly in place leaving 1/4" clearance between scraper pad (2B) and drum. Torque bolts (2A) to 270 ft.lbs.3. Reconnect drum wetting lines (1) to spray bar (304, 404B). If difficulty is encountered in this procedure loosen drum mount mounting bolts (10A). Do NOT remove bolts.
