This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS0765" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the WarrantyClaim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the June 13, 1994 Service Letter. A change was made to the Termination Date.
Termination Date
December 31, 1995Problem
The steering clutch may not completely disengage due to low steering clutch oil pressure. This may result in poor steering and excessive brake wear on certain D5C and D5C LGP TrackType Tractors.

1. Check steering clutch oil pressure at cylinder on Affected Products.2. If pressure is below 350 10 psi, then rework the steering control valve by adding the spacer listed in the parts list. For Affected Product that may have been previously reworked by adding weld to the 5G0273 Cam:Remove the reworked cam and install a new 5G0273 Cam.Then check the steering control valve as described in the Steps 1 and 2 above.

1. Pedal Steer Machines: Add 2 - 8R0739 Washers between the 5G0830 Spacer and 9D7884 Spring in each valve, as shown. See Illustration 1.
Illustration 12. Hand Lever Steer Machines: Drill the inside diameter of the 5G0537 Spacer to 7.5 mm (0.295 inch). Add 1 - 5P0537 Washer between the 8Y6534 Spacer and 8Y3357 Spring in each valve, as shown. See Illustration 2.
