Put wheel (1) in a hydraulic press. Use Tool (A) and a press to remove roller bearing cup (2) and tube (3) from wheel (1) .

Use Tool (A) and a press to remove roller bearing cup (4) from wheel (1) .

Use Tool (B) to remove roller bearing cone (5) from axle shaft (6) .

Remove plate (7) from axle shaft (6) .

Use Tool (A) and a press to remove lip seal (8) from plate (7) .Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

Use Tool (A) and a press to install lip seal (8) to plate (7) . Install the spring side of the lip seal toward the inside of the plate. Install the lip seal until the lip seal is even with the outside surface of the plate.

Install plate (7) to axle shaft (6) .

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Heat roller bearing cone (5) to 135°C (275°F). Install roller bearing cone (5) to axle shaft (6) .

Use Tool (A) and a press to install roller bearing cup (4) to wheel (1) . The roller bearing cup should face the top of the wheel. Install the roller bearing cup until the roller bearing cup is seated in the wheel.

Install tube (3) to wheel (1) . Use Tool (A) and a hydraulic press to install roller bearing cup (2) to wheel (1) . The roller bearing cup should face the rear of the wheel. Install the roller bearing cup until the roller bearing cup is seated in the wheel.
Use a 2S-3230 Grease Cartridge to apply bearing lubricant on the roller bearings and the axle shaft.End By: Install the wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel - Install". The information is in this manual.
