Remove four pinions (26) , spider (27) , and four washers (28) from the case.
Remove washers (28) and pinions (26) from spider (27) .

Remove bevel gear (29) from case (23) .

Place Tooling (G) into position on carrier (18) . Place bearing caps (17) into position. Install the bolts and the washers that secure the caps.Note: Tooling (G) prevents the bevel pinion shaft from falling during removal of the pinion.

Tighten the adjusting screw on Tooling (G) until the screw contacts bevel pinion shaft (31) .

Rotate the carrier by 180 degrees. Remove the six bolts and the washers that secure seal retainer (32) . Remove the seal retainer. Remove the O-ring seal from the seal retainer.

Use Tooling (E) and a hammer in order to remove seal (33) from seal retainer (32) .

Use Tooling (H) in order to lift the staked portion of nut (34) .

Install the yoke onto pinion shaft (31) . Install two 1/2 in. - 20 bolts in the yoke. Use a pry bar in order to hold the yoke while you remove nut (34) .

Remove washer (35) from shaft (31) .

Remove bearing (36) from cage (37) . Remove the ten bolts and the washers that secure the cage to the carrier.

Install two M10 x 1.5 forcing bolts (38) to cage (37) . Remove the cage from carrier (18) . Remove the O-ring seal from the cage.
Use Tooling (E) and a hydraulic press in order to remove the bearing cup from cage (37) .

Rotate the carrier by 180 degrees. Use a hammer and Tooling (E) in order to remove bearing cup (39) from carrier (18) . Remove the shim pack that is located under the cup.
