Installation Procedure for Wheel Brake Cylinder Guards
1. Fabricate four brackets from high strength structural steel as shown in Illustration 1.
Illustration 1. Dimensions for fabricated bracket. Vertical measurements are from dimension line A-A. Horizontal measurements are from dimension line B-B.2. Weld two 1D4719 Nuts on each fabricated bracket (from Step 1) as shown in Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Location of 1D4719 Nuts on fabricated brackets.3. Fabricate two plate guards from high strength structural steel as shown in Illustration 3.4. Use axle flange bolts to install the fabricated brackets as shown in Illustration 4. Tighten the axle flange bolts to torque of 400 N m (300 lb ft). Install the fabricated plate guards on the fabricated brackets with eight OS1595 Bolts.
