new types of publications are available to aid in engine maintenance. The following is a description of the contents of each of the new publications. The publications may be ordered through normal literature ordering channels.
Operation And Maintenance Management Guides will provide the user with information and instructions on increasing efficiency and reducing operating cost. This guide contains extended maintenance schedules, up to and including overhaul. The Operation And Maintenance Management Guides emphasize Value Planed Repair (repair before failure). They provide service interval information that allows the user to achieve the lowest owning and operation cost over the life of the engine. Some of the other topics discussed are Fuel Economy, Engine Performance, Cold Weather Operation, Engine Operating Cost, Extended Service Coverage and Performance Analysis Report (PAR). The 3406B Truck Engine Operation And Maintenance Management Guide, Form SEBU6026-01, is the first of this type of guide. 3208 and 3306B Truck Engine Operation And Maintenance Management Guides will be available soon.
Illustration 1. Operation And Maintenance Management Guide.Maintenance Management Schedules for marine, industrial, EPG, on highway truck and off highway truck engines are available. These guides provide updated and extended maintenance schedules. They also contain information about Maintenance Management, Customized Maintenance Management (CMM), Scheduled Oil Sampling (S O S) and Maintenance Records. These guides should be used in conjunction with the appropriate Operation And Maintenance Guides. Chart A lists the available Maintenance Management Schedules.

Wall charts containing Maintenance Management Recommendations for the 3300, 3400 and 3500 Families of Industrial and Generator Set Diesel Engines are available. One side of the wall charts has pictures to guide the user through scheduled maintenance items up to and including every 250 hours. The other side has the lubrication and maintenance chart, specifications and refill capacities. Chart B lists the new wall charts that are available. Others will be available soon.
