Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.
Refer to the Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Prepartation for Troubleshooting" section.Note: Make sure that the cushion-hitch accumulators are correctly charged with dry nitrogen gas before you adjust the linkage for the leveling stem.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at high idle.
Activate the cushion-hitch control switch.

Allow the rod of the load cylinder to extend as far as possible. Measure the rod for extension (A). This distance (A) is defined as the extension of the rod. This distance (A) should be 121.0 12.0 mm (4.76 0.47 inch).
In order to adjust the extension of the rod, loosen locknut (5). Pull down on retainer (4). Remove pin (6) in yoke (3). Turn yoke (3) until the extension (A) of the rod is 121.0 12.0 mm (4.76 0.47 inch).
Do not rotate valve stem (2) in leveling valve (1) .
Reinstall pin (6) in yoke (3). Position pin (6) at an angle that is 90° from the centerline of the machine.
Push retainer (4) into position. Hold valve stem (2) while you are tightening locknut (5) .
Deactivate the cushion-hitch control switch. This will put the cushion-hitch in the LOCKDOWN position. When the rod of the load cylinder has fully retracted, activate the cushion-hitch control switch. The cushion-hitch will be in cushion ride mode.
Repeat this procedure several times in order to make sure that the linkage for the leveling stem has been adjusted correctly.
