Note: If the steering wheel or the steering shaft is removed, the components must be installed correctly.
Center the machine in the STRAIGHT AHEAD position.
Stop the engine. Engage the parking brake.

Steering Frame Lock in the Locked position (1) Steering frame lock.
Install steering frame lock (1) in order to prevent machine articulation.

Steering Components (2) Pilot control valve. (3) Key. (4) Shaft. (5) Flange. (6) Steering Wheel. (7) Steering shaft. (8) Key. (9) Shaft. (10) Yoke. (11) Bolt. (12) Lever. (13) Bolt.
Remove steering shaft assembly (7) .ReferenceFor the correct procedure to remove the steering shaft, refer to the Service Manual module for Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Shaft - Remove and Install".

View B-B (10) Yoke. (11) Bolt. (14) Keyway. (15) Nut.Note: Key (3) and keyway (14) should be in the STRAIGHT AHEAD position.
Align keyway (14) with key (3) .
Install yoke (10) onto shaft (4) .Note: Be sure that key (3) is still in place once you install yoke (10) onto shaft (4) .
Install bolt (11) and nut (15) into yoke (10). Tighten nut (15) to a torque of 55 10 N m (40 7 lb ft).
Position keyway (8) in the STRAIGHT AHEAD position. Steering wheel (6) must also be in the STRAIGHT AHEAD position.Note: If steering wheel (6) is not in the STRAIGHT AHEAD position, steering wheel (6) must be removed and aligned with keyway (8). When the components are correctly aligned, the steering wheel will turn evenly to the right and to the left.

Detail C (8) Keyway. (9) Shaft. (12) Lever. (13) Bolt. (A) 6.0 1.0 mm (0.25 0.05 inch).
Install lever (12) onto shaft (9). Slide lever (12) over key (8) until you obtain dimension (A). Dimension (A) equals 6.0 1.0 mm (0.25 0.04 inch).
Secure lever (12) to shaft (9) with bolt (13). Tighten bolt (13) to a torque of 55 10 N m (40 7 lb ft).

View A-A (5) Flange. (16) Pilot hole.Note: Be sure that steering wheel (6) is in the STRAIGHT AHEAD position before you perform the following steps.
Assemble shaft (9) into pilot hole (16) that is located in flange (5) .

Steering Components (5) Flange. (12) Lever. (13) Bolt. (17) Bolts. (18) Washers. (19) Nuts.
Attach flange (5) to lever (12) with bolts (17), washers (18), and nuts (19) .

Lever to Flange (5) Flange. (12) Lever. (17) Bolt heads.Note: Be sure that there is no space between flange (5) and lever (12) before performing Step 14.
Be sure that flange (5) is flush against lever (12) .
Tighten nuts (19) that are on bolts (17) .Attaching the Telescoping Steering Column
Lock the telescoping mechanism on top of the column by using the locking lever before the column or wheel is installed in the machine.

Attach the steering wheel to the column. Be careful to rotate the wheel relative to the telescope locking mechanism. The locking lever will be located
