Remove the cover from the left-hand side of the transmission guard.

Locate Control Valve (A) for the No. 5 Clutch on the left-hand side of the transmission and at the output end of the transmission.

Disconnect Harness Connector (B) from Control Valve (A) .
Remove Bolts (C). Retain the clip and washers. Discard the bolts.
Remove the old O-Ring Seal from the face of Control Valve (A). Install new O-Ring Seal (2) onto the face of the control valve. Apply O-Ring Assembly Compound (4) to the O-ring seal.

Install O-Ring Seal (2) onto Orifice Plate (1). Apply O-Ring Assembly Compound (4) to the O-ring seal.

Position Orifice Plate (1) to the transmission housing with O-Ring Seal (2) facing the housing. Position Control Valve (A) over the orifice plate and secure the components to the housing with Bolts (3). Use the washers and clip retained from Step 4. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 4 N m (22.13 2.95 lb ft).
Reconnect Harness Connector (B) to Control Valve (A) .Note: Do not reinstall the cover that was removed at Step 1. The cover will be reinstalled at the end of ""Procedure 2 - Flashing of Transmission ECM"".Procedure 2 - Flashing of Transmission ECM
Note: 433-5813 Power Train Software Gp or later software update is production software that is available to all of the listed machines as standard transmission software. If this software, or later software has been already flashed to the machine then skip Steps 1 through 4, and start at Step 5.
Connect ET to the machine and flash the Transmission ECM with 433-5813 Power Train Software Gp (5) or the latest update. The flash file is available via SISweb.
Once the new software has been flashed to the Transmission ECM, reconnect ET.

Select "Transmission ECM". Check the ET summary screen to see that the Software Group Description now reports a Transmission Type 1.Note: Transmission Type 1 is a standard 730 Transmission without an orifice plate change. This standard transmission has been selected by default as part of the software upgrade process.

Change the transmission configuration code to 2. Reason Code 3 factory passwords will be required.Note: Transmission Type 2 is an APECS 730 Transmission with an orifice plate installed.Note: Illustration 8 shows the Electronic Technician screen for ET 2012A or later versions. Earlier versions of ET will show Transmission Configuration Code as a flexed parameter, which will be displayed at the bottom of the configuration screen.
Calibrate the transmission. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, RENR6723, "725, 730 and 730 EJECTOR Articulated Trucks Power Train, Transmission - Calibrate".
Once the changes to the Transmission ECM have been completed, ensure that the totals screens and configurations have remained correct. Complete a final product status report to keep as a record that the completed upgrade was successful.Note: The following parameters may have returned back to the factory defaults:
