Moving and Stopping the Machine
Be sure no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury.Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Do not shift the transmission to NEUTRAL to allow the machine to coast.Moving the Machine
Machine is designed to operate most efficiently in gears 2 through 6. Sustained operation at full load in 1st gear may shorten power train life.
1. Raise all lowered implements enough to clear any obstructions before moving. 2. Push down on inching clutch pedal (1) and service brake pedal (2). 3. Release parking brake (3). 4. Move governor control lever (4) to the desired engine speed.5. Move transmission control lever (5) to the desired direction and speed (up to 7th gear in FORWARD).6. Release the brake pedal.7. Release inching clutch pedal to engage clutch and to allow the machine to move.
Do not use inching clutch or brake pedals as foot rests to avoid early wear or damage to machine parts.
Speed and Direction Changes
For operator comfort and maximum service life of power train components, reduce engine speed and bring machine to a complete stop when changing directions. 1. Pull governor control lever (1) back or push decelerator pedal (2) down to decrease engine speed.2. Push brake pedal (3) down to slow the machine travel speed.3. Push inching clutch pedal (4) down to disengage the clutch.4. Push brake pedal (3) down all the way to stop the machine.5. Move the transmission control lever to the desired direction and speed.6. Release the brake pedal.7. Release the inching clutch pedal slowly to engage clutch. The machine now moves.8. Release the decelerator pedal, or push forward on the governor control lever to increase the engine speed.Speed changes are made by moving the transmission control lever from one speed to another. Use of the inching clutch is not needed for speed changes. When operation requires less than full load, shift to a higher gear and use the governor control lever to reduce engine rpm. This reduces engine wear and maximize fuel economy. It also improves operator comfort by reducing the noise level in the cab.Use the following chart to help choose the best gear range and engine rpm for your operation.
