79. Install shaft (94) in carrier (84).80. Put the gear and gear (92) in position on the shaft, and install ring (93). 81. Use a press and tooling (D), and install bearing (97) in cage (95). Install the bearing with the notch in the inner race in the bearing facing up as shown.82. Install ring (96). 83. Align the notch in bearing (97) with the dowel in gear assembly (98). Install cage (95) and bearing (97) on the gear assembly. 84. Put gear (99) in position on gear (98). Install ring (100) to hold the gear in place. 85. Put cage (95) in position in carrier (84), and install the bolts that hold it in place. 86. Fasten a hoist and a 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolt to shaft (94). Put the shaft and carrier (84) in position in the planetary group.87. Align gear (101) with the gears in the carrier, and install gear (101). 88. Start with a disc, and install two discs (102) and one plate (103). 89. Put plate assembly (104) in position on housing assembly (73). 90. Start with a disc, and install three discs (105) and two plates (107).91. Put 10 springs (108) in position on the piston.92. Put manifold (106) in position on the carrier, and install the bolts that hold it in place. 93. Install rings (109) and (111) in the grooves in piston (110). Install the rings with the lip of the ring toward the housing when the piston is installed. Put clean oil on the rings. 94. Put piston (110) in position in housing (112). Install tooling (F) to hold the piston in the housing.95. Fasten a hoist and two 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolts to housing (112). Put the housing in position on the plate. Make sure springs (108) are in position in the counterbore in the housing.96. Install O-ring seal (113) on housing (112). 97. Use a press and tool (D), and install bearing (116) in manifold assembly (114). Install the bearing with the notch in the inner race down.98. Install ring (115).

2. Wrong Method To Make (Non-Metal) New Seal Rings Ready For Installation.
New seal rings must be preloaded before they are installed to prevent them from being damaged or broken. There is a correct method to preload new seal rings prior to installation. Place your hands on each end of the seal ring, and pull (wind) the ends several inches past each other or until they almost make contact. See Figure 1. Use care to keep the ring shaped like a circle. This will make an even bend (or ring "set") all around the ring. When the seal ring is in the groove of the carrier, the ends must butt together lightly. Do not bend the seal ring as shown in Figure 2. This does not make an even bend all the way around the ring.Do not attempt to use this method to preload a used seal
