Removal Procedure
Start By:
Open the left-hand hood.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
The muffler, catalytic converter/muffler, and diesel particulate filter will become extremely hot during engine operation. A hot muffler, catalytic converter/muffler and diesel particulate filter can cause serious burns. Allow adequate cooling time before working on or near the muffler, catalytic converter/muffler and diesel particulate filter.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove bolt (1), bolt (2), bolt (3), and bolt (5).
Disconnect harness assembly (4) and harness assembly (6). Place the harness assembly out of the way.
Loosen band clamp (7) and band clamps (9). Disconnect hose (8). Slide hose (10) in the direction indicated.

Remove two bolts (11). Remove four bolts (13). Remove ARD combustion air control valve (12).Installation Procedure
Install ARD combustion air control valve (12) in the reverse order of removal.
