Check the position of the tamper blade (6). Use the screed plate (7) as a reference. The tamper blade should be 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) below the screed plate when the tamper blade is at the lowest point.Check the position of the tamper blade (6) relative to the front guard (5). The tamper blade should have a clearance of 0.5 mm (0.02 inch).Perform the following steps in order to adjust the position of the tamper blade.
Loosen the locknuts (1) and (2). Loosen the nuts (3) that attach the tamper support to the frame of the screed.
Tighten nut (1) in order to raise the tamper blade. Tighten nut (2) in order to lower the tamper blade.
Tighten the nuts (3) .
Tighten nuts (1) and (2) .

Adjust tamper wear plate (8) .
Remove front guard (10) and hold the tamper bar away from the front edge of the screed plate.
Loosen nuts (9) .
Align the front of wear plate (8) with the front edge of screed plate (7) .
Tighten nuts (9), and install the front guard.
Tighten nut (4) in order to decrease the gap between the front guard (5) and the tamper blade (6). Loosen nut (4) in order to increase the gap between the front guard (5) and the tamper blade (6). The gap between the guard and the blade should be no more than 0.5 mm (0.012 inch). The guard may be adjusted closer to the tamper blade as needed.Note: Adjust the position of the tamper bar for all four sections of the screed.
