Removal Procedure

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove tube assemblies (4) and (5) .
Remove hose assembly (6) from the fuel transfer pump.
Disconnect harness assembly (2) from the unit injector hydraulic pump.
Disconnect harness assembly (3) from the fuel pressure sensor .

Support the unit injector hydraulic pump by hand and remove bolts (7). Remove unit injector hydraulic pump (1) .

Remove nut (10), washer (9), and gear (8). Remove O-ring seal (11) from unit injector hydraulic pump (1) .
