This help screen illustrates the different ways to save the configuration parameters.
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET).
Go to the help screen that is shown in illustration 1, and follow the instruction in order to save the configuration data to a file. Later, this file will be used in order to load the configuration data to the new ECM.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position. Disconnect the machine harness from the ECM.
Remove the ECM.
Make sure that the replacement ECM is the correct part number.
Connect the machine harness to the ECM.
Install the replacement ECM.
Connect Cat ET to the new ECM.
The ECM should be loaded with the latest Flash files. If the new ECM does not have the latest Flash files, then load the latest Flash files to the ECM.
Enter the product identification number.
For approximately one minute, turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
In Cat ET, go to the screen that is shown in Illustration 1. Then follow the instructions in order to load the configuration data from the previously saved file to the machine ECM.
Perform system calibrations. Note: Performance will be affected if ANY of the calibration procedures are omitted. Perform all of the calibration procedures.Setting The Service Hour Meter

This help screen illustrates the way to set the master hours.
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET).
Go to the help screen that is shown in illustration 2, and follow the instruction in order to set Master ECM hours. Note: You will be able to set the master hours higher but you will not be able to set the master hours lower without contacting your Caterpillar dealership.
