COMPACT WHEEL LOADER,
Information:
10. Remove cap slowly to release any pressure. Check coolant level. Maintain coolant to within 1/2 inch (1 cm) of the bottom of the fill pipe. 11. Observe air cleaner service indicator. 12. Service filter if RED piston is locked in visible position. 13. Observe precleaner cup. Empty cup if dirt is up to indicator mark. 14. On models with precleaner screen, brush off dirt and debris. 15. Measure transmission oil level. Oil should be up to FULL mark on dipstick. 16. Test all controls for free movement.Positioning Seat
Inspect condition of seat belt and mounting hardware. Replace any defective components.Always wear the seat belt when operating the machine.Adjust the seat at beginning of each shift or when the operators change.Replace belt at least every 3 years.
Standard Seat
1. Lift up on backrest tilt handle, and move backrest to desired position.2. Turn seat cushion tilt adjustment control IN or OUT, until desired position of seat is reached.3. Move FORE-AFT control lever toward center of seat to unlock it. Move seat forward or backward to desired position. Release lever to lock seat.Attachment Seat
1. Raise backrest up and move to desired position.2. Adjust for operator's weight by moving adjuster control until Ride Level Indicator is even with front edge of seat frame (operator seated in desired position).3. Move FORE-AFT control lever toward center to unlock it. Slide seat forward or backward to desired position. Release lever to lock seat. When starting the engine the Transmission Lever should be in NEUTRAL. However, it is possible to start the engine when the Transmission Control Lever is engaged. Should this happen, the machine will not move. To move the machine, position the Transmission Control Lever in NEUTRAL, then to desired speed and direction. 1a. Engage parking brake. (Early 950). 1b. Engage parking brake. (Later model 950, 966C and 980B). 2. Place transmission control in NEUTRAL. 3. Engage transmission control lock. 4. Move bucket and equipment controls to HOLD. 5. Turn disconnect switch ON. 6. Depress accelerator just past detent. 7. Move the HEAT-START switch to HEAT position for indicated time. See STARTING AID CHART. 8. Move the HEAT-START switch to START position. Release switch as soon as engine starts. If engine does not start after 10 seconds, move the HEAT-START switch to HEAT for 30 seconds, then to START. When engine starts it may be necessary to return the HEAT-START switch to HEAT until engine runs smoothly at low idle. Then release switch. Heating of coolant and crankcase oil, use of starting aid fluid and/or use of extra battery capacity may be required at temperatures below 0°F (- 18°C).
If engine again does not start, let starter cool for 2 minutes, then repeat starting procedure.Do not move HEAT-START switch to HEAT when engine is warm and running.
When Starting Fluid is Required
Use starting fluid sparingly. Follow manufacturer's instructions carefully.Do not store starting fluid containers in operator's compartment.
1. Perform steps 1 through 8 for STARTING THE ENGINE.2. Move HEAT-START switch to START.3. Spray starting fluid sparingly into
