REWORK PROCEDURE
D11R (9XR, AAF) Lift Cylinder Position SensorsDescription of ChangeAn improved Lift Cylinder Position Sensor,part number 219-4714, is now available for D11R Track Type Tractors. Thissensor is a direct replacement for the 168-6926 and 194-3474 Cylinder PositionSensor used on the D11R. The new sensor offers improved reliability byincreased operating temperature range eliminating multiple fault codesof CID 869 CID 870 FMI 03 Sensor Short to Battery and CID 869 and CID 870FMI 08 Sensor Duty Cycle out of Range when they have been due to excessivetemperature at the sensor. This updated sensor will allow the system tooperate in more extreme conditions.
219-4714 position sensor also resolves a signaloutput problem found in 194-3474 position sensor. Above sensor voltagesof 25V the output of the 194-3474 can become unstable in some sensors.This will result in unpredictable readings, intermittent diagnostic codes(CID of either 869 or 870), or constant diagnostic codes.
Rework procedure for the 219-4714 Lift CylinderPosition SensorIf the 168-6926 or 194-3474 position sensoris used, remove and replace them in accordance with the service manual.(SENR1790)
Calibrate the new sensors according to theservice manual procedure.
Installation notes for the 219-4714 LiftCylinder Position SensorThe 219-4714 position sensor may be operatedwith or without the 143-9182 +15 Volt power supply.Reference: Service Magazine Article "ImprovedCylinder Position Sensor Is Available".
The 219-4714 position sensor should be operatedwithout the 149-4038 filter assembly. This filter function is now includedin the sensor design.
