Recoil compartment oil lever must be checked with the tracks installed and adjusted to the correct sag before checking oil lever on dipstick (6).Oil Fill Procedure for Pivot Shaft (For Machines Without Pivot Shaft Lubrication Group)
1. Remove plugs (1) and (5) from the pivot shaft bearing compartments on each track roller frame. Some machines do not have plugs (1). Do not remove the plug in the cross-tube.2. Put SAE 30W lubricating oil (no pressure) into the compartments on both sides until the oil level is at the bottom of the hole.3. Install a fabricated quick-disconnect in one of the roller frame fill holes. A quick-disconnect fitting can be installed in an extra plug that has been drilled and tapped.4. Put oil, which as at a pressure of 310 to 450 kPa (45 to 60 psi) into the compartment.5. Add oil until it comes out of the vent hole on the same side of the machine. Stop oil flow and install plug (1) in the vent hole. On machines without vent holes, add oil until it comes out of the fill hole on the opposite side of the machine and then install plug (6).6. Continue oil flow until it comes out the vent hold on the opposite side of the machine. Stop oil flow and install the other plug (1) in the vent hole.7. When the oil is at the correct level, disconnect the oil supply and remove the fabricated quick-disconnect fitting.8. Install plug (5) in the track roller frames.9. It is recommended that the oil be checked every day for the next three days to see if there is a change in the level. Oil can be added as needed.Oil Fill Procedure for Pivot Shaft (For Machines With Pivot Shaft Lubrication Group)
1. Remove plugs (1) and (5) from both roller frames and make sure the hose from the pivot shaft oil bottle is connected to the cross-tube. Some earlier machines with a pivot shaft lubrication group will not have plugs (1).2. Fill the pivot shaft bearing compartments with SAE 30W oil until the oil level is at the bottom of the fill hole.3. Install plugs (5).4. Fill the center oil compartment of the pivot shaft through the pivot shaft oil bottle until oil comes out the vent holes. If the machine does not have vent holes, fill the pivot shaft oil bottle until the oil level becomes constant.5. Install plugs (1) and check the oil level in the pivot shaft oil bottle again and fill if necessary.6. The oil level should be checked and maintained daily. Plug (3) must be removed while installing the plate.(4) Put 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer on retainer, sleeve, seals and frame assembly and permit to dry. Then put 5P3413 Pipe Sealant on retainer bore, sleeve outside diameter, and frame assembly bore before seal installation.(7) Torque for bolts that hold the idler to bogie ... 1350 135 N m (1000 100 lb.ft.)(8) Torqu for bolts that hold the rollers to the
