DIFFERENTIAL GP-LIMITED SLIP 2582395 - Caterpillar

Some earlier Tool Selection Charts and Service Manuals do not show the correct tools that are needed for installation of the final drive pinion flanges on D6C and D6D Tractors and 977K and 977L Loaders. Earlier Tool Selection Charts and Service Manuals for the D6C and D6D Tractors show the 7B8791 Bolt (1 1/4" - 12 threads) for use with the 1S6561 Adapter (1 1/4" - 7 threads). This is not correct. Also, the new 6V3094 Adapter can not be used to install the flange on the former 5S192 Pinion (1 1/2" - 12 threads). Change the respective Tool Selection Charts and Service Manuals to show the correct tooling given in this article.
