A 138-7576 Link Bracket 3 Start By:
Remove the axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Remove" or, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fixed Axle (Front) - Remove and Install".
Remove the axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install".
Remove the front support for the rear axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Trunnion Support (Oscillating Axle, Front) - Remove". Note: Put identification marks on all lines and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all line and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Typical Example
Place the axle assembly on suitable cribbing with the differential pinion in a vertical position, as shown. The weight of the axle assembly can weigh as much as 6464 kg (14250 lb).

Remove bolts (2), cover (1), and shims (3) from the axle housing.

Remove pin (4) and O-ring seal (5).

Remove guard assemblies (6) from the rear axle assemblies.

Disconnect tube assemblies (7) and (8) from each service brake.
Disconnect clips (11) from tube assemblies (7) and (8).
Remove bolts (9).
Remove bracket (10) and all of the tubes as one unit.

Remove bolts (12) that fasten differential and bevel gear (13) to the axle assembly.

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to differential and bevel gear (13). Note: Bolts (12) can be used as forcing bolts in the following step.
Attach three bolts (12) in the threaded holes of differential and bevel gear (13). Tighten bolts (12) evenly in order to separate differential and bevel gear (13) from the housing.
Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove differential and bevel gear (13). The weight of differential and bevel gear (13) is approximately 815 kg (1800 lb).

Remove O-ring seal (14) from the differential and bevel gear.
