Start by:a. Install steering frame lock pin.1. Stop the machine so that the bucket is positioned flat on the ground. 2. Remove four bolts (1) from the tilt cylinder guard. Remove the guard. 3. Disconnect lubrication hose assembly (2) (if equipped) from the rod end of the tilt cylinder. 4. Remove bolt (3) and the clamp from the tilt lever.5. Disconnect lubrication hose assembly (4) (if equipped) from the tilt lever. 6. Remove two bolt (5) and move the lubrication manifold (if equipped) away from the tilt lever. 7. Remove two bolts (6) and washers, one on each side of the tilt lever assembly. 8. Attach a suitable lifting strap and hoist to the tilt link. Use tooling (A) to remove the collets from both sides of the tilt lever assembly. 9. Remove pin (7) from the tilt link. Lower the tilt link to the floor. 10. Remove two bolts (8) and washers, one on each side of the tilt lever assembly. 11. Attach a suitable lifting strap and hoist to the rod end of the tilt cylinder. Use tooling (A) to remove the collets from both sides of the tilt cylinder. 12. Remove pin (9) from the tilt cylinder. Lower the tilt cylinder onto the lift arm assembly. 13. Attach a suitable lifting strap and hoist to the tilt lever. Remove bolt (10), washers and nut from the tilt lever assembly. 14. Use tooling (B) to remove the collets from both sides of the tilt lever assembly. 15. Remove pin (11) and the shims from the tilt lever assembly. Remove the tilt lever assembly from the machine. The weight of the tilt lever is 312 kg (688 lb). 16. Remove lip seals (12) from both sides of the center bore in the tilt lever assembly.17. Remove bearing (13) from the tilt lever assembly.Install Tilt Lever
1. Install bearing (1) in the tilt lever assembly. Make sure that the bearing is centered in the bore.2. Apply 7M-7456 Bearing Mount Compound to the bores before installation. Use tooling (A) to install lip seals (2) on both sides of bearing (1) in the tilt lever assembly. 3. Attach a suitable lifting strap and hoist to the tilt lever assembly. The weight of the tilt lever is 312 kg (688 lb). 4. Put the tilt lever assembly in position in the lift arm assembly. Align the bores of the tilt lever and the lift arm assembly. Put 5P-0960 Lubricant in the pin bore and install pin (3) and shims (4) as required. 5. Put 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the outside and inside diameters of all collets before assembly. Install collet assemblies (5). 6. Put 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the thread of the bolt that holds the collet assemblies to the pin assembly. Install bolt (6), nut and washers in the collet assemblies. The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the bolt is tight.7. Tighten the bolt and nut that hold the collet assemblies to the
