PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Replace the stator assembly following the Rework Procedure.
1. Remove the alternator from the engine in order to replace the stator assembly. Refer to RENR8261, Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install", for additional instructions.
2. Remove three screws (A) in order to remove the rear cover. Refer to Image1.1.1.

3. Remove four screws (B) and separate the stator outlet terminal and rectifier. Refer to Image1.2.1.

4. Remove four through bolts (C). Refer to Image1.3.1.

5. While keeping the stator and rear frame (D) together, lift them away from the drive frame.

Refer to Image1.5.1 for a view of rear frame (D) and drive frame (E) separated.

6. Pull out rear frame (D) in order to separate it from the stator (F). Refer to Image1.6.1.

7. Replace former stator (F) with new 423-2775 Stator Assembly (1). Refer to Image1.7.1.

8. Slowly insert new 423-2775 Stator Assembly (1) with the iron terminals while maintaining it perpendicular to rear frame (D). Refer to Image1.8.1.

9. Apply a thin coat of grease on rotor shaft (G). Slowly insert rear frame (D) while maintaining it perpendicular to rotor shaft (G). Refer to Image1.9.1.
Note: To prevent damage to the rear bearing, do not apply excessive force during insertion.

10. Insert four through bolts (C). Tighten four bolts (C) to a specified torque of 7.9 +/- 1.4N.m. Refer to Image1.10.1.

11. Using four screws (B), install the stator outlet terminal to the rectifier. Tighten four screws (B) to a specified torque of 2.2 +/- 0.3N.m. Refer to Image1.11.1.

12. Using three screws (A), install the rear cover. Tighten three screws (A) to a specified torque of 2.2 +/- 0.3N.m. Refer to Image1.12.1.
Refer to RENR8261, Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install", in order to install the alternator.
