Information:

start by:a) remove power take-off shaft group (only the shaft which connects the reverse gear box to the winch transmission must be removed) 1. Remove plug (1) to drain the oil from the reverse gear box. 2. Remove five bolts and remove cover (2). 3. Loosen three nuts (3) and chain adjuster (4). 4. Remove master link (5) and chain.5. Remove nut (7) and washer from the shaft. 6. Remove the sprocket (6) from the shaft with tooling (A). Remove the key from the shaft. 7. Fasten a hoist to the reverse gear group as shown. Remove three nuts (3) and remove reverse gear group (8). The weight of the gear group is 84 lb. (38 kg).Install Reverse Gear Group
1. Fasten hoist to reverse gear group (1) as shown. Install the gear group on the power take-off clutch housing. Install but do not tighten the three nuts which fasten the gear group to the housing. The weight of the gear group is 84 lb. (38 kg). 2. Install key (2) and sprocket (3) on the shaft with washer, nut, and cotter pin. 3. Install the chain on the sprocket and install master link (4). 4. Adjust the chain as given in the LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE. 5. Install cover (5) on the housing. 6. Install drain plug (6) in the reverse gear box. Put lubrication in the reverse gear group as recommended in the LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE.end by:a) install power take-off shaft groupDisassemble Reverse Gear Group
start by:a) remove reverse gear group 1. Remove six nuts (2) and remove adapter (1) from the gear box. 2. Remove cotter pin, nut and washer which fasten yoke (3) to the shaft. Remove the yoke from the shaft with tooling (A). Remove the key from the shaft. 3. Remove four bolts (4). Remove seal retainer (5) from the cover. 4. Remove the seal from the seal retainer with tooling (B). 5. Remove eight bolts (6) and remove cover (7) from the housing. 6. Remove two gear and shaft assemblies (8) from housing (9). 7. Remove two bearings (10) from each gear and shaft assembly with tooling (C). 8. Remove four bolts (11) and remove seal retainer (12) and gasket from the housing.9. Remove the seal from the retainer with tooling (B).Assemble Reverse Gear Group
1. Install a lip type seal in each bearing retainer with tooling (A) until the seal makes contact with the bottom of the seal counterbore. Install the seal with the seal lip toward the inside of the gear box. Put a light layer of the lubricant to be sealed on the seal lip. 2. Install seal retainer (1) and gasket on the housing. 3. Heat four bearings (2) to a temperature of 275°F (135°C). Install two bearings on each gear and shaft assembly (3). 4. Install two gear and shaft assemblies in housing (4). 5. Install gasket and cover (5) on the housing assembly. 6. Install gasket and seal retainer (6) on the cover. 7. Install key (7)
