Removal Procedure
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Release of Pressure in the Hydraulic System".Note: The following procedure shows the removal of the left hand track tension accumulator. The procedure is identical for both sides.
High hydraulic system pressure. To avoid personal injury, do not remove any hydraulic system lines, taps, or parts until all pressure has been relieved.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Disconnect hose assembly (1) from track tension accumulator (2) .
Remove eight bolts (3) and the washers that secure track tension accumulator (2). Use two persons in order to remove track tension accumulator (2) from the track roller frame. The weight of the accumulator is 22 kg (50 lb).Installation Procedure
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Use two persons to position track tension accumulator (2) to the track roller frame, as shown. The weight of the accumulator is 22 kg (50 lb). Install eight bolts (3) and the washers to secure track tension accumulator (2) .
Connect hose assembly (1) to track tension accumulator (2) .
Purge the air from the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System - Purge".
