On certain 120M, 12M, 140M, 14M, 160M and 16M Motor Graders, the existing transmission filter bypass springs can allow filtration bypass under certain operating conditions.

ACTION REQUIRED
At the next transmission filter change, replace the existing filter bypass springs with the new 334-2679 and 334-2680 Bypass Springs.
Refer to Service Magazine SEPD1082. See the article titled "Enhancements to the Filtration System on the Drive Train Systems for Certain Caterpillar Products." While the system is disassembled for the spring change, please verify that the correct Oil Filter Element, 328-3655, is installed and if it is not replace the Oil Filter Element with the correct 328-3655 element.
