Attach a 0 to 40000 kPa (0 to 5800 psi) pressure gauge to pressure tap (2). Pressure tap (2) is located on the right side of the machine and above the hydraulic oil tank.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at high idle. Move the tilt control lever to the TILT BACK position in order to increase the oil to normal operating temperature. The oil is at normal operating temperature when the hydraulic oil temperature indicator is between the first mark and the second mark.
After the oil has reached normal operating temperature, lower the bucket and any attachments to the ground. Stop the engine.Note: The following steps may require removal of the operator's cab in order to gain access to the pressure and flow compensator valve for the steering pump.
If you must remove the operator's cab, use the following reference for the correct procedure.Reference: For the correct procedure to remove the operator's cab, refer to the Service Manual module for Disassembly and Assembly, SENR1392, "950G Wheel Loader and 962G Wheel Loader Machine Systems", "Cab - Remove".

Remove the cover from adjustment screw (4). Loosen locknut (5) .Note: Be sure that you count the number of turns in the following step.
Turn adjustment screw (4) clockwise until the screw bottoms. Adjustment screw (4) will need to be adjusted once the test for the backup relief valve is completed.
