Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Connect the steering frame lock.

Remove hose (1). Remove tube (2).

Loosen clamp (3). Remove line assemblies (4) and (6).

Remove nuts (7). Remove turbocharger (5) and the gasket.Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Apply Tooling (A) to the turbocharger mounting studs on the exhaust manifold.
Install turbocharger (5) in the reverse order of removalNote: The gasket must be replaced with a new gasket.
Tighten nuts (7) to a torque of 54 5 N m (40 4 lb ft).
Tighten clamp (3) to a torque of 12 1 N m (9 0.7 lb ft).
