These guidelines will also improve the capability for aligning the belts on the Versatile Flotation Systems.For average payloads for roading that are between 6810 kg (15,000 lb) and 18160 kg (40,000 lb), a 10 mm (0.39 inch) shim or two 5 mm (0.20 inch) shims should be used. The definition for the average payload for roading is the load that is moved on any road with a hard surface.For average payloads for roading that are greater than 18160 kg (40,000 lb), an additional 5 mm (0.20 inch) shim can be added.

A maximum of 20 mm (0.78 inch) total shims is permitted. If you exceed 15 mm (0.59 inch) total thickness of shims you will need to elongate the slot at location (A) for additional clearance for installation purposes. As you add shims to a thickness of more than 15 mm (0.59 inch), pin (M) will move upward into slot (N). Consequently, you will need to elongate slot (N) by the amount that is more than 15 mm (0.59 inch). This will provide clearance for pin (M). See Illustration 2 and Illustration 4.Note: Elongate slot (N) in the direction of the arrow that is shown in Illustration 2.The part number and the part name for a 5 mm (0.20 inch) shim is 7T-4699 Plate (Shim).Install the necessary amount of shims under the lower axle pads on each of the axles, as shown.
