Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Remove and Install".
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tube for installation purposes. Release the pressure in the cooling system by loosening the filler cap on the radiator. Drain the coolant from the radiator into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the cooling system is 22 L (5.8 US gal).

Remove five screws (1), strip (2), two clips (3), and floormat (4) .

Open tool box (5) and remove two bolts (6). Remove tool box (5) .

Remove five clips (7), two screws (8), plate (9), two washers (10), and floormat (11) .

Remove two bolts (12) and two washers (13) which are located on the underside of cover plate (17). Remove screw (14), washer (15), and nut (16) in order to remove cover plate (17) .

Disconnect five electrical connectors (18) .

Use a suitable allen wrench to remove four bolts (19) and four washers (20). Move mounting bracket (21) for the brake lever aside.

Remove two bolts (22) and two washers (23) from seat support (24). Use the access hole to remove the bolt from the rear of seat support (24) .

Remove fuse cover (25) from seat support (24). Remove two bolts (26) and two washers (27) which are located inside seat support (24). Remove seat support (24) .

Loosen three clamps (28) and disconnect three hoses (29). Remove two screws (30) and remove plate (31). Disconnect electrical connector (32) .

Loosen two clamps (33) and disconnect two hoses (34) from heater (35). Remove four bolts (36) and four washers (37) in order to remove heater (35) .
