System ECM's located on the left side of the machine in the large compartment near the radiator
(1) Propel ECM
(2) Propel ECM display
(3) Propel ECM mode switch
(4) Propel ECM display mode switch In order to assist with troubleshooting, the ECM (1) will show diagnostic information on the ECM display (2). The different types of information are accessed from three different ECM modes. The Propel ECM mode switch (3) is used to access the different modes. For more information on the ECM modes for the propel system, refer to the System Operation, "ECM Modes" module in this manual. The different types of diagnostic information that is available for the Propel Electronic Control system are listed below.OPERATOR ERROR CODESCertain machine conditions must be present in order for the ECM to operate the propel system. If the machine conditions are not correct, the ECM declares that an operator error exists. When this occurs, the propel diagnostic code present lamp will turn ON and the error code will be shown on the ECM display when in mode 0. The operator error code will be preceded by the letter “P”. When an error code is active, the machine will not propel until the error code has been cleared. The three different error code identifiers that are for the propel system are:
P01 - Speed lever out of neutral while the parking brake is ON.
P02 - Gear change when the speed lever is not in neutral.
P03 - Illegal maneuver mode.Reference: For more information on troubleshooting the operator error codes, refer to the Diagnostic Code Procedures, "P01, P02 or P03 " modules in this manual.ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC CODES When the ECM detects an electrical problem with a component in the propel electronic control system, the ECM will activate a diagnostic code for the involved component. The propel diagnostic code present lamp located on the operator station panel will turn ON. The lamp notifies the operator that a propel system diagnostic code is active . The active diagnostic code will be displayed on the ECM display when the ECM is in mode 1. The diagnostic codes are shown as “CID FMI” codes. The CID (component identifier) is a three digit number that is associated with a specific component in the propel electrical system. The FMI (failure mode identifier) is associated with a specific condition for the component that the ECM detects as an abnormal condition. An FMI code will always be issued with all active CID codes. A troubleshooting procedure is available for all of the diagnostic codes in the propel system. For the troubleshooting procedures, refer to the Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Code Procedures" module in this manual. For a complete list of the propel system diagnostic codes, refer to the Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Code List" module in this manual.CalibrationWhen the ECM detects that a component in the Propel Electronic Control System is out of calibration, the ECM will turn ON the propel diagnostic code present lamp located on the operator station panel. A diagnostic code may be shown on the
