(4) Use a cutting torch to remove area (X) from plate assembly (40) at the location shown. This is needed for clearance for the operation of pedal (33). Install bracket assembly (19) and the pedals on the machine. Adjust the brakes and steering clutches as shown in the Service Manual. With pedals (23) and (24) against stop (11), adjust the length of rods (4) and (5) until the pins can be installed freely in the brake linkage at the lower end of the rods. With levers (22) and (25) against stop (11), adjust the length of rods (3) and (6) until the pins can be installed freely in the steering clutch linkage at the lower end of the rods.Installation Of Governor Control
(1) If the machine is equipped with a two lever governor and transmission control, remove former governor control cable (1), lever (2), bracket (3) and plate (4). Remove lever (5) from plate (4). Keep rod (5). The remainder of the parts will not be needed again. If the machine is equipped with a single lever governor and transmission control, complete the modifications shown on pages 2 through 5. Remove cable (6). Do not remove lever (7); it will be used again. (2) On machines with single lever governor and transmission control, install 5B2551 Disc (8), 5G3630 Plate Assembly (9), 6S3859 Washer (10), eight 5D998 Springs (11), 6S3900 Seat (12) and 4B5273 Washer (13) on bracket (14) with 2K564 Nut (15). On machines with two lever governor and transmission control, use the former parts with a new 5G3630 Plate Assembly (9). Put disc (8) in kerosene for a period of twenty-four hours before the disc is to be installed on the machine. Install former rod (5) or a new 5G865 Rod on plate (9) with two 1A2343 Bolts (16) and 5P4116 Washers. (3) Assemble 5G3639 Plate Assembly (17), 5G3508 Spring (18), 5G3510 Rod Assembly (19) and 5G3507 Plug (20), as shown. Install 5G3515 Bracket (21) with a 5G3857 Plate (3F-3R transmission only). Use a cutting torch to remove a section from cover assembly (22) at location (A) to make clearance for 5G3625 Cable Assembly (23) and 5G3518 Cable Assembly (24). Connect cables (23) and (24) to bracket (21) as shown. Connect cable (24) to plate (17) with a 6F612 Nut. Tighten the nut. Put cable (23) through plate (17) and install two 6F612 Nuts as shown. Install former 6S7940 Ball Joint Assembly (25) and a 6F612 Nut on rod (19). Connect ball joint assembly (25) to plate (9). (4) Put cables (23) and (24) in position along the top of the transmission. Install a 6F612 Nut and 4N4735 End (26) on cable (24). Install 5G2267 Lever (27) on the governor. Connect end (26) to lever (27) with the former hardware. For machines with open ROPS, (see step 6, page 14, for the procedure on enclosed ROPS) install a 6F612 Nut and 692508 Clevis (28) on cable (23).
