22. Remove gear (42) from the shaft. 23. Remove gear (46) and spacer (45) from the shaft.24. Remove gear (44) and gear (43) from the shaft. 25. Remove spacer (48) and gear (47) from the shaft. Remove the shaft from the transmission. 26. Remove ring (49) from nut (51). Remove the nut and roller bearing (50) from the shaft. 27. Remove lip seal (52) from bearing cage with tool (F). 28. Remove bolts (53) and remove cover (54). 29. Remove bolts and lock (55) and remove washer (56). 30. Use tooling (C) to push the shaft from the cage. Remove bearing cone (57) from the cage. 31. Install two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws (59) in the cage. Remove cage (58) from the transmission case. 32. Remove O-ring seal (61) from cage. 33. Remove bearing cups (60) from cage with tooling (D).34. Use tooling (E) to remove bearing (62) from the shaft. Remove the spacer from the shaft. 35. Remove gears (64) and (63). Remove the shaft from the transmission case. Remove the bearing cage from the shaft. 36. Remove retainer ring (65). Remove roller bearing (66) from the shaft. 37. Remove the plug. Install a 6-40 NF screw and remove dowel (68) that holds the bearing race in position.38. Use tooling (G) to remove the bearing race (67) from the transmission case.Assemble Transmission (Direct Drive And Special Application)
1. Install the bearing race in the transmission case with tooling (A). Make sure the dowel hole of the bearing race is in alignment with the dowel hole of the transmission case. 2. Install the dowel in the transmission case that holds the bearing race in position. Install the plug in the transmission case.3. Heat the roller bearing to a maximum
