Flash the AccuGrade Components
Perform the following procedure in order to flash program the system components. The system components are flashed in order to upgrade the software. The new software will allow the system components to communicate with the ECM and each other. Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) contains the program WinFlash. WinFlash is used in order to load software into the system components. The following procedure is used in order to FLASH software into the system components.
Do not stop the process. The components will be damaged and need to be replaced.
Connect the 7X-1425 Data Link Cable As between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter Gp and Cat ET.
Connect the 139-4166 Data Link Cable As between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter Gp and the diagnostic connector for AccuGrade.Refer to Illustration 1.

Use WinFlash in order to load the software.Note: Flash programming is NOT allowed if the engine is running, or the machine is moving.
