Information:
Under certain circumstances, the situation may exist where the implement control lever may be ineffective in relieving lift cylinder circuit hydraulic pressure. Use the following procedure to release the lift cylinder circuit hydraulic pressure when the implement control lever method is ineffective.
Make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before performing this procedure.

Machine location and detail view of valve used to manually lower work tool.
A valve is located near the articulation joint on the right-hand side of the machine. Slowly turn the square stem of the valve in the clockwise direction. The square stem should be rotated 90 degrees in order to relieve the lift cylinder hydraulic pressure.
Rotate the square stem counterclockwise 90 degrees once the pressure has been released from the lift cylinder circuit. Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Equipment Lowering with Engine Stopped" for additional information.Tilt Cylinder Circuit
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Under certain circumstances, the situation may exist where the implement control lever may be ineffective in relieving tilt cylinder circuit hydraulic pressure. Use the following procedure to release tilt cylinder circuit hydraulic pressure when the implement control lever method is ineffective.Bleeder screws are provided on this machine to relieve blade tilt circuit hydraulic pressure. These bleeder screws will relieve tilt circuit hydraulic pressure by allowing oil that is trapped between the control valve and the tilt cylinders to drain out of the system. These bleeder screws are installed in hydraulic fittings that are mounted on top of the front frame near the front lifting points of the machine.
Make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before performing this procedure.

Tilt cylinder circuit bleeder screws.
One bleeder screw is installed in each one of four fittings that are used to connect the tilt control valve to the tilt cylinders. Locate four bleeder screws on the top of the front frame of the machine.
Connect a suitable hose to each bleeder screw that was located in the previous step.
