When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
February 2012, machining improvements were made to the spark plug adaptor and prechamber sealing areas of the 0R-2669, and 0R-2670 Cylinder Heads.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 0R-2669, and 0R-2670 Cylinder Heads in dealer parts stock.
The 0R-2669, and 0R-2670 Cylinder Heads are also used in some 6.25 inch bore diesel and gas engine overhaul kits. The cylinder heads must be removed from the overhaul kits and inspected. Refer to the following overhaul kit part numbers.

The date code will be stamped below the reman part number and be in the format of "060 12 1". This indicated the 60th day of 2012, first shift.
If a 0R-2669, or a 0R-2670 Cylinder Head has a date code of "060 12 1" or after, mark the packaging to indicate it has been inspected according to this program and return the cylinder head to dealer parts stock.
If a 0R-2669, or a 0R-2670 Cylinder Head has a date code earlier than "060 12 1", remove the cylinder head from dealer parts stock.
For overhaul kits with a suspect cylinder head, replace the cylinder head with a known good cylinder head from dealer parts stock, or a new reman cylinder head order.
DO NOT return the entire overhaul kit. Only return the cylinder head. Refer to the Parts Disposition.
