Exciter Brush Mounting Removal and Disassembly
1. Remove the front bearing.
BRUSH MOUNTING ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
1. Brush mounting assembly. 2. Wires.2. Mark and disconnect the wires (2).3. Mark the brush mounting assembly (1) for correct positioning at installation.4. Remove the brush mounting assembly from the shaft.5. Loosen the setscrew (4) and remove the cap (3).
CAP REMOVAL
3. Cap. 4. Setscrew. The cap has an indentation into which the setscrew should fit at the time of assembly.
BRUSH MOUNTING DISASSEMBLY
5. Nut. 6. Insulation. 7. Screw. 8. Stud. 9. Screw. 10. Brush holder.6. Remove the screws (9) and remove the brushes.7. Remove the brush holders (10) by loosening the screws (7).8. Loosen the nuts (5) and remove the studs (8).9. Inspect and replace the insulation (6) if there are signs of cracking or breakage.10. Install in the reverse order of removal.11. Adjust the brush spring tension according to the Operation and Maintenance Instructions.
