Remove O-ring seal (35) and impeller (34) from impeller hub (32).

Remove thrust bearing race (36), the bearing retainer, and the thrust bearing from stator (37).

Use two people to remove stator (37) and carrier assembly (26) from housing assembly (10). The weight of stator (37) and carrier assembly (26) is approximately 28 kg (62 lb).

Remove retaining ring (38) from stator (37).
Remove carrier assembly (26) from stator (37).
Remove side plate (39), the 13 freewheel springs, the 13 freewheel rollers, and the freewheel cam from stator (37).

Remove metal seal ring (40) from carrier assembly (26).
Remove sleeve bearing (41) from carrier assembly (26).

Remove retaining ring (42) and side plate (43) from stator (37).

Remove retaining ring (44) from stator (37).
Raise the temperature of stator (37). Push freewheel cam (45) out of stator (37).

Remove thrust bearing (46), the thrust bearing race, and the bearing retainer from turbine (47).

Position housing assembly (10) upside-down on suitable cribbing, as shown.
Use a hammer and a suitable brass punch to push hub (48) and the turbine from housing assembly (10). Remove the ball bearing from the turbine.

Remove bolts (49) and hub (48) from turbine (47).
Install two of bolts (49) to turbine (47). Use a soft faced hammer to remove clamp ring (50) from turbine (47). Remove two bolts (49).

Remove seal ring (51) from hub (48).

Use a screwdriver to remove retaining ring (52) from housing assembly (10).
Remove plate (53), the two clutch plates, and the two clutch disc assemblies from housing assembly (10). Note the order of the plates and the discs for installation purposes.

Install Tooling (G) (not shown) at Location (Z) on lockup clutch piston (54). Remove lockup clutch piston (54) from housing assembly (10). Remove Tooling (G).
Remove seal ring (56) from lockup clutch piston (54). Remove seal ring (55) (not shown) from housing assembly (10).
