Remove the power train guard.

Support rear drive shaft (1) with Tooling (A) .

Remove bolts (3) that fasten rear drive shaft (1) to yoke (2) . Repeat this procedure for the opposite end.
Use Tooling (A) in order to lower rear drive shaft (1) to the ground. The weight of rear drive shaft (1) is approximately 48 kg (105 lb).Installation Procedure

When the rear drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the rear axle assembly yoke. The rear drive shaft must be installed in phase with the center and front drive shafts. Serious component damage could occur. Be certain that all the joint groups, all the yokes, and all the lubricating fittings are aligned.

Use Tooling (A) in order to position rear drive shaft (1) . The weight of rear drive shaft (1) is approximately 48 kg (105 lb).

Install bolts (3) that fasten rear drive shaft (1) to yoke (2) . Install bolts (3) finger tight. Repeat this procedure for the opposite end.Torque Procedure for the Drive Shaft Bolts

First tighten the bolts in the following sequence: (1) , (2) , (3) and (4) . Tighten the bolts to a torque of 300 30 N m (220 22 lb ft). Ensure that the components fit correctly and that no gaps are present.
Tighten the bolts again in the following sequence: (5) , (6) , (7) and (8) . Tighten the bolts to a torque of 300 30 N m (220 22 lb ft). End By: Install the power train guard.
