Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Tilt the cab. Refer to the "Operations and Maintenance Manual" , Cab - Tilt for the correct procedure.

On the right rear of the transmission.
Disconnect harness assemblies (1).

Remove bolts (3) and the washers.
Remove transmission speed sensors (2) and the O-ring seals.

Top of transmission.
Remove bolts (4) and cover (5).

Disconnect harness assembly (6) and position out of the way.

Remove bolts (8) and washers from speed sensors (7). Remove speed sensors (7) and the O-ring seals.

Disconnect harness assembly (9).
Remove bolt (10) and the washer.
Remove speed sensors (11) and the O-ring seals.Installation Procedure
Install transmission speed sensor (2). Install transmission speed sensor (7). Install transmission speed sensor (11) in the reverse order of removal.
Lubricate the bore lightly with the lubricant being sealed.
Tighten the bolts for transmission speed sensors (2) and (7) to a torque of 14 3 N m (124 27 lb in).
Tighten the bolts for transmission speed sensor (11) to a torque of 14 3 N m (124 27 lb in).
