Be sure the machine area is clear of personnel and obstructions. Make sure there is adequate clearance for rear of the house before swinging.
1. Fasten the seat belt (if seat belt equipped).2. Move the hydraulic lock lever up (disengaged).3. Move the governor control to high idle. 4. Raise boom just high enough to provide sufficient clearance for bucket or clamshell. 5. Depress left travel pedal (A) to move toward drive sprockets. Depress right travel pedal (B) to move toward idlers. The farther the travel pedals are depressed, the faster the travel speed. With pedals fully depressed; BOOM RAISE, SWING, STICK and BUCKET controls will not function. With pedals partially depressed, these controls will operate at reduced speed.Service brakes are applied automatically when travel pedals are released.Frozen Ground
To free machine from frozen ground, position boom in line with track. Use boom down pressure to lift front of machine. Rotate the house 180°. Use down pressure to lift rear of machine.Turns
With the cab over the idlers, the machine can be turned in the following manner, in relation to the operator.Pivoting on Right Track
1. Move steering control to the right until increased resistance is felt, then depress the forward travel pedal. This will disengage the right track and the left track will move toward the idlers. 2. Move steering control to the right until increased resistance is felt, then depress the reverse travel pedal. This will disengage the right track and the left track will move toward the sprockets. Move steering control to the far right position, then depress the forward travel pedal. The left track will move toward the idlers and the right track will move toward the sprockets.Pivoting on Left Track
1. Move steering control to the left until increased lever resistance is felt, then depress forward travel pedal. This will engage the left track and the right track will move toward the idlers. 2. Move steering control to the left until increased lever resistance is felt, then depress reverse travel pedal. This will disengage the left track and the right track will move toward the sprockets. Move the steering control to the full left position, then depress the forward travel pedal. The right track will move toward the idlers and the left track will move toward the sprockets.
Regardless of the relationship of the house to the carbody steering control and travel pedal functions will cause the carbody to move relative to cab over the idlers.
