(7) Boom cylinders When the ride control button on the soft switch panel (SSP) is pressed, the ECM activates the ride control system. The ride control solenoid (3), ride control solenoid 2 (4), and ride control solenoid 3 (1) are engaged. Oil is then trapped in the boom cylinders (7) and the ride control accumulators (6). The accumulators act as a shock absorber. The accumulators reduce the amount of movement of the boom cylinders. The reduction in movement of the boom cylinders causes the entire machine to become more stable.When the ride control button on the SSP is pressed again, the ECM deactivates the ride control function.
